SXSW is coming so quick, guys. RSVPs starting to hit my inbox like WOAH.
First thing is first.
FADER Fort. It's THE SPOT every single year and with free booze, amazing line ups, and the best site set up EVER [hello usable outlets to recharge your phone]. We all have stories to remember or that we forgot, but whether it's seeing Common joined on stage with Erykah Badu dropping THE LIGHT, or James Blake causing the crowd to silence itself, we've all had our OH SHIT moments up inside that thing.
This is why I'm super excited to go at it again. So no Levis or Fiat this year, but regardless the production team of
Lacy Maxwell is on it again, and will guarantee times of your life. They've brought it every year regardless of major sponsor names, liquor/booze provided, and I know this year will be no different.
What I didn't know is that they do so much more. Major event's in LA, New York, and Austin go down thanks to them, so check out their site to keep up with that good good.
Now RSVPing for parties has pretty much become the new wristbands. So don't waste your money

here]. I would suggest wasting time at work going through all the RSVPs. But some feel like they never hear about the good parties. So how can you find the best of the best for parties??

The amahhh-zing people over at our favorite sxsw spreadsheet is taking a bigger step to helping you out. For a very small price of $5 you can have access to their
site with links/emails to all the raging parties, brah! Follow them on the twitter for updates,
here. I will actually have a couple of access spots to give away so STAY TUNED GUYS!
Now, if you are super lazy and have plenty of cash to throw around, SUPPORT ME. :)
Or when it comes to sxsw, you can pay someone to rsvp you to all the parties. I would do this but a] not really into paying someone for something I can do myself and b] if i did go this route, what the fuck would I be doing at work all day??? #amiright
So if you would rather go this route, your best bet would be
SXUnlocked. $40 bucks get you on all the lists AND they have an app to go with it. So you can have all of that party info on your phone during the week and not have to worry about printing out things or making a party spreadsheet. Easy access might be the downfall of the world, BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD.
Now that you have that out of the way, start listening to bands that will be in our lovely city.
I recently came across a site that has stations based on the bands playing in your own city. It's actually a great idea and lets me know what bands are playing when, near me. All in all, great concept. And because sxsw is exactly that, they've created stations based on those acts. You can check it all out at
DeliRadio and if you peek to the right of the site, they have sxsw by day playlist and sxsw by night.
So go check it out and give a listen to bands you've never heard of.
That's the best part of sx, falling in love with a band you've never really listened to. Its glorious.
