As I've been sick for the past 3 days.
And being sick in this fucking heat sucks bigger balls than the man with elephantiasis.
So needless to say, I just might have to suck up my pity party and miss out on Kode9 tonight.
I DON'T WANT TO, but momma has jobs and shit, so i'm just going to sit at home, trying to breathe with my fucking thumb up my ass while you lovers are hearing some lovely dubstep FOR FREE.
So to make myself feel better, i've been searching the internets and have found some goodies.

Guns 'N' bombs are calling it quits

Per their myspace
Sometimes things don’t work out. We – Guns ‘n’ Bombs – have broken up. Filip will continue to make music as Turbotito and with his bands Ima Robot and Djosos Krost and Johnny has a new project called Deathface.
We want to thank the great fans at Womb in Tokyo, the Trashbags crew in Australia, the cool festival crowd in Portugal, the regulars who went to No Culture in LA, everyone at Skylab in Denver, and a lot more people we’re forgetting right now. We’d also like to thank our management, our publicists, and the booking agencies, labels, and groups that we’ve worked with, as without your effort none of our travel and success would’ve happened.
As a “parting gift” here’s a free MP3 of one of the last songs we did, with vocals from our friend Ricardo:

and to continue on, call me a typical girl, or call me someone who has a BEATING LIBIDO!!
But this guy....

Ok, so he has a band which just includes Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields, and I know I have a strong feelings about actors turned musicians, but this one stands out.
How, you ask.
His band, Dead Man's Bones, has signed to Anti- [home of DeVotchka, Man Man, Lyrics Born, The Weakerthans, and more] and will be releasing their self titled debut album on October 6th.
Via pitchfork, this is what this man said about the conception of their goth-folk sound.
"You know when you're a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it's just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge? From that point on, you're always trying to get back on the fridge, you start drawing things that look like something, like, the more it looks like a horse, the more chance you have of getting it on the fridge. We wanted to get back to that place before we were trying to make the fridge. We wanted to work with people who hadn't been affected in that way yet."
Sounds good to me.

Add this one to the list of reasons that we love Daft Punk:
When Black Eyed Peas mainman Will.i.am decided to remix “I Got it From My Momma,” the first single off his just-released solo album, with a big, chunky sample of Daft Punk’s “Around the World,” he must of figured the Frenchies would be honored and more than willing to take the royalty money and run. He was so certain, in fact, that he shot an entire video for the remix, replete with Tron-inspired graphics that look oddly similar to Daft Punk’s own awe-inspiring encore outfits from this summer’s Alive 2007 tour. Apparently though, Will.i.am moved faster than the lawyers, who were forced to deliver the message that Daft Punk doesn’t think their music sounds better with him. *ZING!!*
Someone sent us the video this morning, and all we can say is: long live the robots.
